London is a healthcare centre.
We have world class health care and (health care research) with both teaching hospitals, a children’s hospital as well as an urgent care hospital. Canada has universal healthcare (we have government funded insurance that allows us to access a full range of quality health services).
Education.
London has first class primary (typically, kindergarten to grade 8) and secondary (grades 9 to 12) neighbourhood schools provided by 4 publicly funded school boards. Post secondary education? London is home to world-class post-secondary institutions: Western University and its affiliate colleges (Brescia, Huron, King’s and Ivey), Fanshawe College, Collège Boréal, and additional colleges.

London has a LOT of trails within the city; great for bringing kids on nature walks, or for a beautiful day-hike with your canine companion, or use our paved paths to walk or cycle to work, or run. There are 470+ parks in the city. (Our Springbank Park was voted as one of the top 10 running paths in Canada, 2023**.)

We’re within 2 hours of 4 US border crossings. Travel? Take a flight from our international airport or catch a train at the VIA station located in the heart of the city.

Enjoy spending a few days in the wild? Canoe/kayak trekking? Or just a great day trip to the lake? In less than 2 hours you can reach 3 of the 5 Great Lakes. You can get to Lake Erie in a mere 30 minutes! Ontario has 340 provincial parks with everything from day hiking to wilderness camping.

Our Climate
We run the gamut from swim suits and shorts in the summer, to toques and parkas in the winter. Our autumns are dazzling with brilliant red, orange and yellow colours, while spring is heralded by the many blossoming trees in the city.
